It depends on the service the dog and his groomer provide. If the dog is calm and well-groomed, then tip is not necessary. If you are satisfied with the service, then tip is appreciated. If you cannot afford a tip, it is ok to leave some extra money in the pocket as a token of appreciation. If it is not enough, we are more than happy to take more as a donation. If you do not have any funds, we would be more than happy to take some extra care to make sure your dog feels well pampered before we finish the job. We understand this may not be possible in all cases, but if possible it would be greatly appreciated. If we need to take our shoes off, please do so when entering your home or before entering your home so that we do not track any dirt onto the carpet or furniture that might stain it when we leave. Thank you for your understanding.
How much should you tip a groomer?
It is common that people present better tips for tailoring or hair stylists, but the best tip is to tip the groomer.Although not expected, it is considered polite to tip a groomer for their time and effort. A general rule is between $10 and $20. Of course this will be dependent on the amount of service required. If you would like your dog groomed as well, round up to the nearest dollar as a thank you for their time.Trimming a dog is a time-consuming process. The groomer has to first bathe your dog and then comb out all fur knots. Next, they will begin trimming the fur around the ears, neck, and tail. Then they will finish up with a final trim around the feet and legs. Remember that your dog may be in pain during this process and so if possible encourage them to relax by giving them treats or an extra pillows under their chin/stomach area.
